About Us

DON’T BE GREEDY was founded by Heidi Greedy, in honor her husband Shane Greedy who she lost in August

2023 to Colon Cancer. 

While Shane was hospitalized in California for over 60 days, 

he shared with Heidi how “blessed” they were that they had a residence in CA that enabled Heidi to be close by while he was in the hospital.

Many people living in Lake Havasu City, Arizona have to seek major medical care outside the area due to lack of medical services and care locally. Having to travel therefore adds addition financial burdens to families.  

Shane being the selfless person he was, asked Heidi to donate his travel points from his credit card to a family in a similar situation. Soon after this, Shane passed away. In his honor, Heidi got together with family and friends to fulfill on a LARGER scale Shane’s wish. That’s the kind of person Shane was, even as he was in a hospital fighting for his own life, he was concerned about others. 

DON’T BE GREEDY is a non-profit 5013c organization that aims to support families during out-of-town medical journeys with financial assistance, through financial grants, alleviating the burden of travel and lodging expenses that insurance doesn’t cover.

DON'T BE GREEDY hosts 2 EVENTS each year to raise money and awareness. Our Poker Run is held in February of each year and our Runway Fashion Show & Gala is held in September.
